Hello there! I'm Elise and there's only five important things you need to know about me.


I love food.
I live in the outdoors.
I'm obsessed with DIY.
I have a penchant for pretty things.
And travel is my best friend.


I grew up in a small geothermal town situated right on the edge of a 240,000 year old caldera. The town is laced with native forests where I spent the majority of my childhood excavating for "treasure", hiking with my Mother and mountain biking through the trails.

An outdoor girl at heart and a creative kid by nature, it's no wonder I struggle to sit still for longer than an hour!

The Confetti Room is my place to share the things I treasure most. Whether it's featuring talented people and their work or documenting my own experiences, I like to think of this blog as my online playground.

Little Known Facts

• I'm a but of an adventure junkie taking regular hikes around my amazing city - and would love for you to join me if you're ever in town! I like to compete in crazy fun events like tough guy & girl challenges, orienteering courses and moonlight mountain biking competitions.


• I have another blog where I teach bloggers & entrepreneurs how to build profitable online businesses using marketing and monetization strategies.


• I read magazines backwards.


• I make a killer lemon cheesecake but I'm by no means a michelin chef. I love high tea, gourmet chocolate, asian cuisine and of course, burgers and fries.


• I'm obsessed with mystery drama shows like Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder and Game of Thrones (who isn't). And love a good action movie!


• I get ridiculously excited about ancient history and neuroscience.


• I don't actually like coffee but drink it every day.


• My Mother shouted me a trip to Europe for my 21st birthday, in which I spent the actual day of my birthday crying outside the Monte Carlo Casino.


• My pet peeves include dirty washing on the floor (next to the washing basket!), beetroot and indecisive people.


• I used to run holiday programmes for kids and got to experience super fun attractions in my city for free.


• In 2010 I did Camp America and worked at Camp Silver Beach summer camp for 4 months. After camp I traveled solo around the country.


• My Mother is a tourism ambassador for my hometown, Rotorua (yeah, where the giant caldera is!)
